Current Opportunities

Resident Engineer

We are currently seeking Resident Construction Engineers with experience with vertical and horizontal construction projects in Massachusetts. The Resident Engineer position requires exceptional construction knowledge and/or specialization in several fields of construction engineering.

Responsibilities include monitoring the contractor’s adherence to the contract documents and verifying that all quality control testing is performed as required by the specifications. Responsible for construction management functions, including construction quality and progress evaluation; schedule and cost control; project coordination; change order control; and data recording and preparation of daily reports. Coordinate contractor’s work with owner’s operations and facilities staff as well as with other contractors working in the immediate area to prevent impacts to the owner’s operations.

Education Level: BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management required.

Experience in Related Field: Minimum of 5 to 10 years applicable experience required. Experience with transportation agencies such as MPA, MBTA, and MassDOT is highly desired.

Unique Expertise / Certifications / Registrations: 

  • Minimum of 10-Hour OSHA Construction Safety certification required.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, strategic project management and analytical skills. Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrated success in synthesizing information and presenting conclusions to senior management.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan, and organize work, adapt to new situations, react objectively and expeditiously to critical and emergency construction operation or engineering problems.
  • Ability to pass an MPA controlled substances test and background security checks required.
  • Computer literacy or the ability to quickly learn software programs desirable.

Schedule Analyst

We are currently seeking a Schedule Analyst with highway and bridge construction scheduling experience. The scheduler will be reviewing and analyzing contractor baseline schedules and monthly contractor update schedules, making recommendations to mitigate delays, and completing project status reports on highway, roadway, bridge, rail, facility, and airport construction projects. Responsibilities may also include evaluating change orders and delays related to time impacts. Duties will also include leading schedule-related meetings with construction contractors and field oversight staff, discuss/negotiate schedule issues and attend all progress meetings for assigned projects. Other responsibilities may include: Integrated Master Schedule Development, Critical Path Management and Reporting, Cash Flow Forecasting, Resource & Cost Loaded Schedules and Progress Curve Development, Look Ahead Schedules, and Development of Monthly Status Reports.

Education Level: BS degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.

Experience in Related Field: A minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering, construction, or construction management required with a minimum of 3 years of experience with scheduling software Primavera P3 and P6 experience.

Unique Expertise / Certifications / Registrations: 

  • Heavy Construction / Highway / Bridge / Rail experience is preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of and experience in construction scheduling, program scheduling, and cost and resource loading required.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, and an ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment
